Sasha completed her interior decorating & design concepts diploma in 2005 from Lawrence College in St. John's, NL. After completing her diploma she crossed the Atlantic and started her design career in Edinburgh, Scotland, where she worked as an interior designer and sales consultant for Jeffrey's Interiors.
In 2006 when Hutton returned to Newfoundland she settled on the West coast of the island working for Humber Valley Resort as their interior designer/event planner for their commercial spaces. This job included designing both the spa and restaurant at the resort.
As she came back to her hometown of St. John's in 2008 she worked for Karwood Contracting Limited and started up and managed their in house design centre.
In 2010 she was given the opportunity to start her own interior decorating business and began Sasha V. Design with her first job as the interior designer for the Elizabeth Towers renovations. This included redesigning the common areas, creating two design options for new clients and staging the penthouse suite.
Sasha V. Design has been involved in the interior design and decorating of many new construction homes, commercial spaces, home renovations/redesign and staging of homes to sell.
Sasha's personal design style is a classic mix of modern, Scandinavian and beach house casual. She brings 13 years of experience in the design and decorating industry, including staging many homes in the St. John's real estate market.
Sam started her design career working at a local modern furniture store & design firm, SAM Design. She worked her way from part time sales associate to full time sales and design consultant, working on both commercial and residential design. After completing her interior design course through the New York Institute of Art & Design in 2016 she ventured on to creating her own business, Plank Design.
Plank Design has been involved in restaurant renovations, home renovations and redesigns.
Interiors and architecture have always been of interest to Sam and her passion for design has been influenced by her travels around the world.
Sam brings a new and fresh perspective to design. A curated eclectic style is how she would best describe her personal design style.
